About Us
Blue Collar plays a wide variety of music, from old blues to southern rock, to appeal to all audiences. Blue Collar started out 3 years ago as a strictly blues band but found that most venues they played preferred to have a diversity of music styles. The band plays a mixture of musical styles and tailors their song selections to audience reaction. At this point in time, they are a cover band but they prefer to play songs with their own interpretation.
Heather Twiss, Vocals
By virtue of her age, Heather is the relative neophyte of the band. She is by no means new to the local music scene. Heather played acoustic solo and duets in various venues throughout the area. Her vocal range and strong voice was ideal for fronting a band such as Blue Collar where she can showcase her ability to go from lilting ballad to soulful blues to a gritty rocker. Her ability to connect with audiences has helped to add to the appeal and popularity of the band.
Steve A, Guitar
Steve originally hails from England and has toured throughout Europe in rock bands. He emigrated to the United States and has been in a number of bands ranging from original rock to blues. His English influences, such as Eric Clapton, are evident in his playing ability.
Garry Angove, Bass
Garry has also been in many bands throughout his life. He too puts his own attack on the songs he performs making his sound an integral component of the Blue Collar sound.
Billy Hayes, Drums
Billy has been in many Massachusetts based bands and has also made the gradual transition from rock to blues. His technique reflects a fusion of these two styles of music that is unique.
